In trying to avoid an uncontrolled mut whilst out on my bicycle I used the brakes too harsh went over the handlebars and broke the wrist on my clutch hand. Anyone any advice on physio tricks to get the hand performing correctly quickly. Anyone had any issues with riding a motorbike when the healing has completed? Any advice would be welcome.

At least you didn't lead with your head.......

I believe it can be very theraputic to kick the offending mutt - in the todger!

No such thing as a universal injury, so doubt if there is any sound advice other than to follow the doctors' and physiotherapists' advice.

If the joint is mated correctly - the bone should end up thicker where it knits together - so there shouldn't be any lasting damage. I'd work up slowly to bike-riding though - especially if you have a bike where there is a lot of weight on your wrists.

My daughter is a Physio and she would say the most important thing is to do your exercises properly and regularly, but she would say that wouldn`t she!!
Hope it all mends well.

There is no such thing as quick healing. It will take as long as it takes and it differs from person to person. Exercise is important to keep it flexible but also to improve the flow of blood. Without the blood flow there will be little or no healing.

My wife broke BOTH her wrists ( yes, I had to do EVERYTHING for her ) when her gg lobed her off over the front three months ago. She's now back to full undiminished use and strength and she didn't have any specific physio recommended except to keep moving arms and fingers ( while in plaster ) to stimulate blood flow.
Lifting her arms up above her head regularly for same reason.
Good luck but don't expect it to be a quick business.
