Time to say hello.

I'm 43 years old from Oegstgeest in the Netherlands, approximately 25miles south of Amsterdam. Three months ago, I bought a 1999 yellow R1100s, which hasn't been driven on for a long time, in an auction. After collecting it with a van, I gave it the necessary maintenance, a new Odessey battery and two weeks ago a couple of Michelin PilotPower tyres. And since then.....I'm in love again. A lot/enough power, nice turning and a comfortable drive.

After a period of driving a lot in my twenties, the last 10 years, I did owned several bikes (Honda Blackbird, Ducati 999 and a R1200GS) but I lost the fun in riding a little. And now it's back.:D

Next few little projects will be, finding/buying some panniers, mount the already bought bellypan, clear indicator lights, stainless steel bolts and screws and a transformation in color (I've not decided what it will be, black or a RandyMamola edition).

After finding out how to add some pictures, I will post them.

Walter

I think you'll find that the standard metallic grey is the best colour.

As promised, some pictures of my bike. Since making these pictures I bought some panniers, replaced the tyres by Michelin Pilot Powers (2CT front, normal rear). To cover up the bursts, I plastidipped the bottom-part of the screen. A little better, but eventually I will replace it by a dark one.

Welcome to the forum. I wouldn't change the colour to the Randy scheme - has been discussed here before and the general opinion seems to be that it will then be a replica boxercup replika. A colour I thought looked really good was a "reverse" Randy colour i.e. the white bits blue and the blue bits white and there was a bike painted white - that looked good too

I would get a headlight protector - the headlight unit is expensive to replace

Nice bike. That's a lovely shade of yellow. What about keeping it yellow but adding black bits to it?! e.g. the central piece of the front fairing, the tank centre piece, black Mamola block decals, that sort of thing?

Welcome Walter, the Mandarin solid colour looks sweet!

Thank you all for your nice replies. I will think about the colour, or maybe leaving it Mandarin. The little black decals is a nice idea, and some parts can easilly be wrapped. The bellypan, I allready got (BCR-style), will be plastidipped or wrapped, just to see how it works out and is fairly cheap.

Last week I drive in total more then 1000km, really had a lot of fun. :D

Have a nice week :happy3:
