Fair play .... I emailed BMW UK with details of my 40th anniversary on bikes, in particular BMW bikes and got the following reply:

"Dear Mr Parry

Thank you for your e-mail to Tim Abbott our managing director which has been forwarded on to me. I read with interest your comments and reflections on 40 years as a motorcyclist.

I can relate to your experiences as we appear to be of a similar age and many of my personal experiences mirror yours.

Motorcycling is a way of life and not just a past time and it is good to hear from genuine enthusiasts who share the passion.

It is also pleasing to see that BMW motorcycles have played, and still play, such a major part in your life.

I have taken the liberty of sending you a copy of “ BMW The Unstoppable Book” as a small memento of your time with the BMW family.
