Front end issues?

I have a 2002 R1100S. It seems to have developed some slight play in the front end. This is noticable at lower speeds over ripples in the road, and when pushing the the bike over lumps. It feels like the lower end of the bike is slightly disconnected from the bars.
I have checked all the fixing screws with a torque wrench and all are ok. I have also jacked up the front end of the bike, but then can't find any play....Any ideas? Could it be sticktion in the fork legs? Thanks.

If you def have no play when the front is suspended clear of all load and ruling out ball-joint or wheel bearing wear and you've checked all your pinch bolts etc, then you're only left with the shock or fork tubes. If you've not lost oil from the tubes, then perhaps your front shock is past best?
I could be way off the mark, more intelligent folk will be along shortly

I had this once on my BCR, it turned out it was just the hidden lock screws under the top yoke that "lock" the bars in place were loose, nipped them up and it was fine since

Thanks for replies, will check out both. Where exactly are these hidden screws?
Thanks

Doh! Yep, soon as you said that seems pretty likely. Simple things often the solution
