startup

On turning the key to the ignition on position (idiot lights on) I normally get a buzzing noise from the engine for a couple of seconds. I assume this is the fuel pump priming the FI or some such. The last couple of days this has been sticking on, even when the motor has started I can still hear the noise. I've had to turn the ignition off and on a coupla times to get it to resume normal.

Anyone else had this? Is it bad and if so is there a fix?

Or am I on the cusp of an expensive breakdown? Sob! I was going to order a Zach y-piece on Monday!

TIA

I think its the fuel pump setting up.
It happened to my bike when I fitted a BBPower chip and wasnt resloved until i disconnected the battery and re tried the job.

Sure Ive seen a thread on this before tho

Dunno - I presume it's still running OK? My fuel pump is very noisy when running, much like the noise at startup - the less fuel in the tank the noisier it gets due to the empty tank acting like an echo chamber - bitch job to change IMO cos it's inside the tank. If it ain't broke, I'd be inclined to leave it and monitor it. I've got a spare pump if you want to swap it and see if it makes any difference

Yeah it seems to run ok, i rode it for a bit whilst it was making the noise today and there were no adverse affects. I'll leave it til it goes bang, which is my usual take on maintenance anyway. :D

Thanks for advice.
