Hi all.
I joined the site back in October to research the R1100s before looking to buy, basically for to what to watch out for plus the good mods etc to have. The site has been invaluable, you guys are really knowledgeable the result is I now own my first BMW bike a standard R1100s with the decent mods and at such good value in this day and age, why are they so cheap !!.
My biking back ground is off road Trials & enduro from the sixties up, my first road bikes bought early eighties a couple of classic BSA's, followed by 750 Commando. A new grey import 996 bought on the back of Foggies last WSB win unfortunately now sold big mistake !! but at the time being over 6ft coupled with the M&R involved seem a good move.
I still am involved with off road but more as an official now rather than ride due to the various join problems that take there toll over the years so the Bemma of turn the key and go is a real bonus. I rode the R1100s back home 140 miles 07/12 from Wales and was quite impressed, looking forward now to some better weather, although will run through a full service next on the agenda before putting more mileage on the clock.
So next step is to chip for the site up keep is Richard@Boxertrix.com still the right address on Paypal.
Last point, ok the R1100s possibly not as sexy as the Duke 996 but I can get off it the same way as I got on plus I can walk the dogs for a couple of hrs next day no problem !!.
Bikes currently owned
2x BSA 59 & 60
1X 750 Commando 71
1x AJS SS trials 64
1x R1100s 2000
Plus
BMW 530D sport touring
Cheers

Thanks for the welcome.
Being a member of several bike clubs this one has got to be the best group by far, great banter and real wealth of knowledge when required can't beat that, cheers.
P.S.
Still need clarification of Paypal payment details, money well spent me thinks.

Re-Bike photo's.
Once I get the bikes up together will work out to post the photo's, I know it's on the forum when I looked through somewhere.
I have the mag & G.P. carb off the clubman at present for refurb the other 59 roadster had a couple of cracks in the frame recently noticed so the frame is away for repair then a refurb is in order for that.
The 350 SS Ajay will be next on the bench for well deserved refurb after doing the SSDT a number of times, not with me as the pilot unfortunately.
The Norton well apart from the MOT due this month that's fairly up together just need to put a new kickstart pawl in before it chews the gear up.
The B.M. full service and check over really as it was great on the trip back home makes a change to just turn the key, no advance/retard lever or de-compressors to use !! or bloody kick starter.
