As well as the carbon cover, and the bump pad, you need a base to attach it all to, which means cannibalising a spare pillion seat. If I remember from similar discussions, it's an easier mod if you have the solo seat to cannibalise.

All,
There was one on eBay recently - went for a good price!. Alternatively try John Wood at Cotswold Motorrad - He supplied me a new one at around £175 last year.
And yes you have to prise the cover of the seat cover to replace with the carbon one. I think they are originally held on by glue but they have been sitting in BMW stock so long that mine just pulled away - Guess the glue had lost its adhesion?
Best regards,
David

They do come up on German e-bay once in a while. There is one on now without the pad, which could be perfect.

Thinking aloud, the base on its own should be something relatively straightforward to re-create. A project / small venture for someone with a 3d printer perhaps.

Just fitted my carbon cover to a seat cowl today, looks great. Dunno what the original yellow one was attached with but it was black mastic that was stronger than concrete and just as hard.
Pics to follow in due course.
