Did a B roads trip to the borders a month or so ago and came across the Buccleuch Arms Hotel in Moffat. A very welcoming and Biker friendly place.
The owner and his son (and missus) are bikers. He is happy to spend time offering advice on good biking roads ( that's most of them!) in the region and updates on weather forecasts, or just talking bikes. There are lockable, dedicated steel bike enclosures (steel sheds) around the back.
The roads in the area are fantastic biking roads. And empty!

Is your memory going Reg? Killeen was one as I recall. A couple with that nice Rhodesian family that run the Buccluech at Moffat with the steel garages. I could be mistaken!
