ESA shock rebuilds

For those who have ESA on their bikes ...

I asked WP if they could service the BMW ESA shocks (as they're the manufacturer) and also if they could install firmer springs if required.

WP transferred me to their main service agent in Germany

info@gl-suspension.de

the reply to the servicing question and the possible uprated "porky boy" spring change was

"Hello,

The Spring are 117,.€, Service are 98.-€ excl. service kit, the service kit (Seals, Guides...) are 48.-€

Mit freundlichen Grüßen
kind regards

Andreas Vogt

Obviously postage will be on top I guess but to be honest for OEM service that's not too bad a price really. I believe if you're sending your shock for service it's best to set it to solo rider and comfort damping before removing. If not you have to get the bike and the ESA synched at the dealers on refitting.

I am pleasantly surprised by that, I was expecting a wallet raping of quite staggering proportions.
