I been advised I need 4 reflective bits on me lid for France - also been told that the gendarmes turn a blind eye for Johnny Foreigner. As I'll be traversing France on me way to the Garmisch bash (Boxertrix t shirts obtained - wait for the influx of new members), can anyone here reliably advise onwhether I need them of not
Cheers
Dave

The reflective stickers on the helmet is enforced for French motorcyclists, I never had any issues in 3 years living in France with a UK number plate, but I haven't been back in three years.

You have to bear in mind of course, they will do you if you have speed traps in your sat nav, and if you don't have TWO breath test devices.

All in all a good reason to get the ferry to Holland.

The breath test thing has been abandoned.

Page 3 for the breathalysers and reflective bits. I'm going at the end of July. Fortunately they have postponed the breathalysers indefinitely but the reflective stickers still apply. I'll risk it as I shall not be putting ugly stickers on my lid.

I thought that it was supposed to be a bad idea putting stickers on lids?

I am on my way back home after a week in France never knew about strips on helmet I thought it had gone the same way as reflective bits on jackets and delayed indefinitely. Never noticed any French biker's with strips

A mate and his buddies have just got back from France and were stopped. Got a big b*llocking for not having the helmet stickers (but not fined) and the breathalysers were not mentioned.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Although when there were only 2 helmet materials, the advice was always you can put sticker things on, and paint fibreglass but not polycarbonate (or wasn't it called thermoplastic?)

I've got the breathalysers anyway. Can always use them when driving the truck to tell me when I've reached me limit on the motorway when I get back

I agree with missing France out altogether but as it's a World of BMW trip, it's planned to go thru France.

Got a week to make up my mind wheyher to comply or not
