Have a search for BRAKING discs (produced in Italy) who make wavy ones that work out cheaper - Skint has roadtested these at considerable mileage I believe. Central Wheel, Coleshill will post you some but there is probably a stockist near you. These are TUV approved so in theory wont shatter in the first frost

I got some PFM iron ones from motorworks for about 160 I think, but I wouldn't buy them again. They work fine, but they leave the front wheel completely covered in brown sh*te the whole time and look kak at the slightest sign of dampness

I think the EBC prolites are a good compromise.....better braking than standard and slightly cheaper.Yes I have used them!

As llyod has said, i've put 30k on my wavey braking disc's, got them from tallon engineering, quick delivery and cheap... they work much better than the OE's, they are apparently a high carbon steel. So using EBC HH pads with them seems to give a massive squeal with a pleasant thrumming noise.. the stopping on standard hoses is really good.. i recommend them and would buy more when these are stuffed..

Yep, I've got the braking wave discs too and would agree with Skint.

Jason, they're around £70 each :)

Whoa there Nelly.

Talon are the uk importer for Braking discs but under a recent licencing agreement they are no longer allowed to sell BMW fitment. The new licence is held by Wunderlich (who make nothing except a very pretty catalogue and 50% mark-up) and covers the whole of Europe.
Bang goes that cheap alternative.
All letters of complaint to Braking in Italy please says the sales team at Talon.

hmmm - How quick do you eat pads on the Wavy discs??

I've used Pro-lites before on the ZXR400 and they're.... "ok". I personally found OE gave better performance. (can comment on life because the discs were damaged in a Recovery-truck fuck up before I got too much use out of them).

Are there any other options out there?

BFM sell Braking Wavey disc's, I'll look up their number if you want.

They are cheap as I buy my tyres from them at £150 a pair for Metz M1's.

Is the disc size/fitting unique to our bike/BMWs then? Otherwise we just ask for the equivalent surely - or is that too simple?
