True,I mainly live in black & white.Gromit wrote:Clearly made when the whole world was in black & white - hence why Reg found it.

That was fantastic Reg,
I really enjoyed that, the simple fact that the whole of Le Mans pits was on the public road WOW, as a regular of the 24hr (bikes) not cars I can see how simple the original circuit was no roundabouts down the Mulsanne, the houses from Arnage up to the pits.
Looking forward to returning in Sept for the Endurance and I shall no doubt take a spin around the car course (where it's possible).

Agreed Phil - when I've been travelling down to central France from the channel ports a small detour has usually been made round the public sections of the circuit. Really interesting to see what has, and hasn't changed over the years.popsky wrote: I can see how simple the original circuit was no roundabouts down the Mulsanne, the houses from Arnage up to the pits.
What's nice about the Hawthorn clip is, whilst he's not really hanging around, he's not going at full chat meaning the film is good and steady - excellent quality too.
Thanks again Reg - you've found an absolute gem there.

On race weekend (bike 24hr) the last few years the section of public road between Arnage and the "pits" has been made one way, so you can now only blast the Mullsanne to Arnage, shame really cause there was always some mad froggy waiting for a gullible foreign biker to humiliateGromit wrote:Agreed Phil - when I've been travelling down to central France from the channel ports a small detour has usually been made round the public sections of the circuit. My first trip to South of France in 89 took us through Le Mans (no racing on) and the Mullsanne bereft of all chicanes (roundabouts), boy did my GPX fly
