Wheel colour.....any photoshop experts??

Post by StreetFlatTwin »

Guys I am looking for someone who knows their way around Photoshop to change the colour of my wheels before I make a trip to the powdercoaters!!

My bike is an original silver R1200S and I still have the original unmarked panels and this bike comes with matching silver wheels, like this

Image
And
Image

As you may be aware I currently had Sandbar's old "Humbug" paint scheme and after seeing his bike
Image

I prefer the look of the black wheels BUT I don't want it to look silly with the silver panels should I split them when I come to sell the R 12S.

Image

So could someone photoshop black wheels onto the silver bike?

Thought on your preferred wheel colour for each colour scheme, please!![/list]

Black wheels wont detract from future sale, I don't think - and will look better on the humbug anyway :)

(with obligatory - red rim-tape, of course............ )

Then plug me back in..........

Black every time, I think quite a few people had dealers swap the wheels around on new bikes in order to make a sale.

Mr. Spock is my role model so be advised; I possess no (discernible) sense of humour.

It's all VFR (DCT) round here now. STILL missing my 1100s tho.

Yep. Black looks good. Not sure about the red rim tape on a silver bike. Works on my Colgate though.

The valve covers look good Roloo.

Mine need repainting due to some minor damage caused by the protectors. Oh the irony. Might change from silver.

Al - I share your love of rim tape but thinking more thin white on black wheels...........

Black front and White rear IMHO. Check and see what colour your powder coat man will do. I can vouch for this guy from this site Steve Turner trading as TPCS.
Fiat Panda.
Fiat Scudo (with speedblock, pipe carrier, reversing sensors, reversing camera, tow bar, some new rust and Fake Plumber logo)

started out with nothing, still have most of it left.

That would look good with the humbug paint job. Not so sure with the silver .

I would love the different colour wheels (I am a mega fan of white rims!!) but it would mean powdercoating one of the wheels (so they matched) prior to sale time unless I sold the R12S in the custom colours....
Like this??

ive been toying with putting black wheels on my silver R1200s - my mate has a boxer cup on with different coloured wheels which looks good. I wondered about leaving the front silver and having the rear wheel black.

Would the majority go for plain black or a metallic ?

well i had a play about with paint...... my computer skills arent great!!!

What do you think black front and white rear??

Image

My concern would be that the whites don't match.....I bought vinyl wrap for my seat cowl to try and match it to the white of the painttwork and it was so far out it looked terrible.....so stripped it and sold it on 'ere. The white paintwork isn't a bright icy white which the powdercoat colour is :-(

Black front and back might be the best solution..............
