First off, do the linked brake leavers do the same thing? as in, does the front lever apply 50/50 and the back 50/50, or does one lever favour it's 'normal' brake? They both feel like they do the same on the RT, but I'm not sure.... I wonder because my rear wheel is always covered in brake dust, and the front is spotless, and I dont remember ever using the front brake lever as the back is so good.
Second, are the stock headers stainless? they seem to be getting rusty, but I was always under the impression they where stainless...

If it's the same as my K12GT the front lever operates the front and rear brakes and the rear lever only operates only the rear brake. I think it's a legal requirement that they're separated like that.

I don't think that is right. IIRC the brake lever and the brake pedal do exactly the same thing. In other words you can get maximum braking by using only the brake pedal.
All the 1150RT that I had were like that and also had the servo brakes! AFAIK the 1150RT was the only bike to have that exact brake system, and I reckon that it was by far the best ABS braking system that BMW have done - so far!

Agree, its an excellent system, except for 'whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH' all the time, but you get used to it.
