Back in the '70s, I used to attend the Tuesdays bikers night at the Wake Arms, Epping. It had been that way since the 30s. New Landlord decided to stop all the smelly bikers and their noisy machines in about 1980. An old chap told me one evening of a deer leaping from a high bank across the road that led to the pub, kicked this chap's friends head en route. Deer survived, friend did not.
