Anyone following this? Warming up nicely. This year's rule change (no traction/wheelie control etc) has improved things - the 'lesser' (i.e. poorer) teams have a chance to compete with the usual suspects. Those who can feel the grip and moderate the right hand accordingly, as opposed to relying on the electronics to mete out drive, are doing well. 'Washed up, has-been' Chris Walker won brilliantly at Oulton in damp conditions.

My fave, Tommy Bridewell, is having a great season - lying 5th, ahead of Noriyuki Haga  . Mind you, I haven't seen the second race at Brands yet. Tommy's discovered how to ride fast AND not crash every 5 mins. He does make me chuckle; not a natural in front of the camera and guaranteed to swear during every grid interview - he can't help himself. Caused 'em to flap in 2010 when he used the 'F' word on a live broadcast

The top 6 go forward to contest the championship over the last 3 rounds. They only carry forward 'podium credits', so the points gaps tighten up nicely for the 'shoot out'. Can't wait!

I was lucky again a few weeks back- got invited to Brands again courtesy of Swan yamaha and their hospitality - brilliant day out thanks to some dry weather. Tommy's getting on well but Shakey had a great day again, he is certainly great to watch
