Thinking of upgrading

Post by notoriusb.e.n »

I have been thinking about upgrading my standard 00 S to a boxercup. preferably a mamola rep as I think they are the absolute dogs wotsits. My 00 is cosmetically shabby, but has some extras like carbon panels, y peice and wotnot.

To turn it into the bike i "really want" (I.E a BCR) - i'd have to spend a lot on aftermarket shocks, exhaust, etc etc...and it would still be a 12 year old 40k+ bike at the end of it. fine, for someone that has time and tools and such to spend on tarting it up - something I have neither of really.

So...realistically, boxercup? how much?

And for mine, how much should I really be asking - I'd like maybe just under 2K but I appreciate that these bikes sell based on condition not price/age - and there are prettier examples out there for maybe only a grand or so more.

Remember - the BoxerCup doesn't offer much over a standard bike (aftermarket cans/Y-piece/chip on some)

But - there have been a couple of really well-sorted R1100s on here recently (which I don't think have sold) - which are way ahead of your standard BCR.

That said - there have been BCRs (both models) hovering around the high £3k mark.

I'd have a look back through the for sales here, and see which are worth a bit of thought (I remember a grey one?) - might not be your colour, but wouldn't be difficult to lift it a bit with some graphics (and obligatory rim tape  ). Meanwhile - you have bought a bike which you straight away think: "Bloody hell - this is far better than my old one!"

THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT

If its a Boxercup you want for the colour scheme then only that will do, if you want more performance then the one in Al`s post is the one to have, (I would really have liked this bike myself, has all the `right parts`), if you buy a standard cup you would still have to spend a fortune bringing it up to this spec.

Horses for courses etc, also you could try an R12s...there`s been a couple recently at reasonable money.

good luck with your search

what hayden says is true. if you want that colour scheme then nothing else will do but you have to pay for it and you won't get any performance benefit.

buy mine however and you'll have a stealthy road burner

If its still available in september I'll take another look - I have a euro trip to get out of the way first, then its bike shopping time.

If I want BCR colours I could always buy/collect fairing panels when they come up for sale. which seems regularly enough.

I am thinking :?: Cosmetically shabby, for starters thats a keeper, are you deluded man? those are the most sought after 1100s, no one else has one like yours ffs  Keep the S its part of the family, an upgrade to a tarted up one with a love cushion signature is not that much more into the deep end of the gene pool. Save your moulah and learn to cherish your slut

Its gone up since then. Its averaging about 38-40 since I replaced the plugs and filter, just haven't updated my fuelly since.

And I do kind of cane it, just a bit.
