I have only just seen this excellent thread! Well done Kees. I am impressed with the weight saving; 35kg! Just shows how much the fairing and rear frame assembly weigh.
I think it was Blackhole engineering that used two huge K&N's fitted to elbows so they tucked in where the airbox was; and described that the system required a variable fuel regulator to get things right - even used larger fuel injectors.
If you do want to change the yokes, send a pm to Scott in USA: fshartley@verizon.net. He made some excellent replacements which transformed the rigidity of the front end and may be able to help with some designs.

I'm assuming that as an alternative fuel tank a GS one should be pretty much a straight fit? The early 11GS's had plastic tanks if I recall correctly.

the last couple of years the beemer changed a lot.......check out the pics and you wil see what i mean.

also been buisy with stuntriding........with a kawasaki er-6 and a little bit of wheelying with the beemer offcours.

First time I have seen this thread I think. Thats a great looking bike. Nicely thought through. I love the polished tank on the second last iteration.

great stuff, the parts you made look trick, keep the pics coming.

for now the bike is done........so no more parts.

Being a newbie on here I have only just found this thread... Just brilliant, you sir are a talented chap, really enjoyed reading this. I worry about changing the plugs so I won't be changing much myself. Keep up the good work and please keep us up to date with your doings.
