Hi mate, thanks for the reply. I am not a fast rider anymore so I won't be pushing the limits of it in anyway. I know the forums are always a great place for help. I am on many and have really enjoyed participating whilst I have had different bikes over the years.

I put this in another post:

I did a search in a 50 mile radius on Bike Trader and there is only 1 R1200 for sale but it is a 13 plate and it £10,000+ so it might not be a good representation of the bike in the original post.

This is a tough one. I bought my last two bikes without seeing them or riding them. The first I loved, second was nice but didn't quite grab me. The price I paid was basically trade value though (even though it was nearly £10,000) so I knew if I didn't like it I could move it on fairly easily.

I have since sold that bike and here I am! Money in my pocket and a tough decision to make! It's not like its a GSXR 1000 and are 10 a penny!

I bought my 12 without riding it, I had a RWB Boxercup but within a couple of miles, I knew I'd made the right decision in getting the 12 (keeping the Boxercup too) - mine was exceptional condition - couple of scuffs here and there but it's a 9 year old bike. I would suggest as has previously been said, try to get a ride on a boxer - I don't think they're for everyone - I love twins (waiting for the comments!!) and after riding the 12 I think my VFR is going and will be replaced by yet another twin. Personally I would find one you like and if it is sound buy it - worry about not "clicking" with it later

Usually all the good bikes and low prices are in Scotland! This time unfortunately there's more down south that look decent. I'd be patient a good one will pop up soon. If you're prepared to travel for a bike you have a good feeling about it might open your options up too. Don't be afraid to ask someone on here to check it out for you if they're local (says the man who is going away for 3 weeks  )

I wanted a 12s for years on and off. They became so elusive in the spec / colour I wanted that I actually gave up looking and considered other stuff. Eventually one turned up 30 miles away!
I'd never ridden a Boxer before but I'd spent so long looking I was having it anyway no matter how quirky it was.
I wasn't disappointed. It's very far removed from any other bike I've ever owned, but truly the best "road" bike I've ever had.
That BCR colour one looks nice but if in doubt hold out for the one you really want. It will turn up..... eventually. :)

I love V-Twins! I know a Boxer is a little different again though. I have had a HD, 2 Victory and always wanted a TLR or Ducati. I love the sound and torque.

I really love the look of the bikes and I am not a fast rider anymore. I just want a really nice bike to look after and take on some great rides. I never do over 100mph anymore and I am sure the R1200S can do that just fine.

If anyone here fancies upgrading from theirs let me know!

Fair dinkum mate. I know a lot of Aussies, but strewth you are most un-aussie like. Take a bloody big spoon of Vegemite and half a dozen Tim Tams and buy a bloody bike. This is getting painful for us pommies!

Apparently 6 owners according to someone I know who made enquiries about this bike, seems a lot of people have had there hands on this one, the next owner makes 7.
And I don't really think this bike can be described as a minter, look at picture 5, front of engine is minging, mines done 22k miles and is far better than this example.
Just my 2 cents worth
Phil.

R1200S and loving it !

that's close to me. There was a Boxertrix member in the area with a colgate 1200s - wonder if it's his? If I get a chance I might pop in and have a look

7th owner! That rules it out for me. Not that it makes it a bad bike but I wouldn't pay a premium for it now though.

I just checked it on HPI and it is definitely 5 previous making the current owner the 6th. That is a lot for a low mileage bike...

I'm not saying the number of owners makes it a bad bike. Just not going to pay top money for it.
