The pads are equally disturbing Dave.

I believe a full set of OEM pads for my K12GT is circa £160 - 180 plus fitting etc
So is it EBCs then?

I put EBC's on last time BUT ..... doing so means having to say goodbye to the brake wear indicators as BMW stopped EBC from selling the ones they'd made to fit the pads (and BMW will not sell the indicators separate to the pads) .... and whilst the front EBC's are ok the rear ones are a poor match as they're the same sintered material as the front where the OEM ones have front sintered and rear fibre pads. On other systems this wouldn't be a problem but on the K12GT's it upsets the balance between the linked front and rear brake.

I've been lucky I managed to get a new pair of rear BMW pads off a guy on ebay so now either go for ebc's front or (more likely) go for the genuine ones so I can get my wear indicators back. I like things to be "right" if you know what I mean.

Don't ever try and get a disc straightened!! Take it from me … flogging a dead horse!
Get a new one to get it through the test. Then (if you plan on keeping the bike till the next MOT) take the new disc off and keep in a warm dry place.
Put your duffer back on :)
