Rob,

I've got 014s on now. Never had the 010s so I can't compare (previously I've had Pilot Sports and then Pilot Roads). I like the 014s they are very sticky at the edges and I've worn them almost edge to edge (got about 6mm that I can't get rid of). I did a track day in the wet and the were a bit squirmy as they couldn't get up to temperature. Although the feedback was good, you could really tell when they were up to temp and you could start to play. As for the wear, I've only done a about 1800m so its early days although I'm hoping for 3000 at least from the rear. Might be optomistic, we'll see. I'd have another pair, but only for a summer tyre. Come winter I'm going back to my Pilot Roads.

BMWW,

Are the Pilot Roads really good in the wet/cold? I was never that impressed with Mich's but it has been a while.

I got them because several peeps here rated them. They were a good distance tyre. Did everything fairly well and lasted really well. I got rid of them because I got two punctures in them and I had a track day coming up so I went for something sportier.

The Pilot Sports were bloody useless in the winter, and I've a feeling these 014s will be too. There really is no way you can ever hope to get them up to temperature on a pissy November morning. THe Pilot Roads are as good as you could hope to get in these sort of conditions.

Well, the 014's are on and it does seem to be a pointy beast now. Need to get them thouroughly run in and then well see.....

Initally, they seem very sensitive to bar input when they are on their sides. Hmm, may just be me, but they feel like they are about to wash out when lightly loaded. E.g. slow, high lean angles.

Off to Spain/France at the end of the week, so I'm sure I'll get used to it.
