I can understand folk wanting a warranty replacement for a duff battery. Thing is, the chances are that they will replace it with another inadequate, probably cheaply constructed battery. Few seem to bat an eyelid at spending several hundred quid on carbon fibre bling, so skimping a hundred quid or so for a decent battery seems a false economy to me.

Finally sorted,
Robbed the battery from Alans 1200R this morning and rode over to Astle at Grimsby and am now on another replacement battery. (the 2nd) Pretty sure i'll be investing in an Oddesy soon.

Get ready to go out and try again---back to the same problem, Not enough power to turn the thing over!!! Engine electronics symbol coming up on the dash along with general warning light. BMW technician should be ringing back soon hopefully with some answers. I'm getting pretty pi--ed off with this, Now where's that H*nda brochure.

Well, Recently I've experienced some "similar" problems (but only once - the dead meat replaced under warranty) with that crap OEM R12S battery (in a 6K bike, Sept 07).

That is : the one moment the thing worked, the other (literally, after a refill stop) the thing died (+ bad signs in info panel etc etc) and not even the CTEK 3600 could do some miracle(s).

Crap n2 works OK for the moment, but I tell you that the Absolute best solution is simply : Odyssey PC535GS

Maybe there's some CANbus short circuit situation in your bike and/or alternator issue? [/u]
R12S, black, ex Ohlins (now WP), full HPE, RB3(in place - at last)
