I had the same thing with Conti Road Attacks, Front shagged about 1000 miles before back, Ive gone with Pilot Road 2's now and they look to be a lot better.

When I first got boxered, the dealer put on a new bt010, the rear was a very recent bt020, that front tyre was shagged after 4k, the rear was still legal (just) as I had no probs whatsover with that combo I just replaced the pair, 4k later, front was a mess, rear squared off but still legal. I put it down to the telelever front end at the time. I figured that the front tyre was working so much harder than a conventional front end would allow.
but then I tried pilot roads, and i got 6k from the rear and 10k before the front profile went off!
next up was a pair of pilot road 2's, I only managed 4k on that pair before I traded up for my 12S, but they still looked just scrubbed in.
As has been said, it really depends on your riding style (I'm deceptivley slow

) but also on your own confidence in your tyres.
