65 MPG WOW!!!. I think my riding technique needs a bit of polishing. I have never owned a boxer before so maybe I'll get better returns later in the season.
Looking at the replies 36 mpg kicking around with speeds varying from 40-110 in a short distance isn't too bad.
Next tank full has to be Shell Optimax or Vpower what ever it is!!

It will do, the 1200S is designed to run on 98 Octane fuel. Normal unleaded is only 95.

I used to get about 130 untill the light came on, but then I started using this additive which I got from Tim Rose.(E=MC Endurance shocks) It's called PD5 and it's made by Pendragon Holdings. It has a noticeable effect on acceleration and smoothness and increases the range to 139 to 147 on a normal run or over 150 on a tour. This stuff is worth checking out on the internet. It is also so clean you can drink it! This is not a joke.

I've been using my 1200S for commuting this week. 25 Miles each way on a single-carraigeway road which is a mix of fastish sections, bendy bits, and about 4 miles of walking-pace filtering through Kincardine, across the bridge and through the road works.
I filled up last night and was surprised to only get about 13.5 litres in with 150 miles on the trip. This is significantly better (about 10%) than I was getting on the 1100S. Mind you I do put that expensive 97RON stuff in the 12S and the 11S has to make do with regular.
