Best bit about London - the Singapore Airlines or Cathay Pacific flight out......
Thats all I have.

Here in Queensland our road registration (equivilent to vehicle tax) is calcuated on the number of engine cylinders in the car!
My 2.5liter 5cylinder TD5 LR Discovery used to pay the same a 5.6liter V8 petrol

Quality reply Dave, the thought of having to smear ones arse on less than double quilted is unimaginable and for that reason all bog roll supplies should be given a police escort and exempt from back door taxation. :)

Yeah totally understand most of the deliveries are critical, I just think the build up of them at rush hour, regardless of emissions compliance is a major part of the traffic and polution problem. Running in this morning through Lower Thames Street you could visibly see the smog coming from the road and what vehicles were the problem. Maybe they need even tougher restrictions rather than applying the same or similar rules to bikes as lorries!

Is there a rush hour in London? I thought it was the same 24/7. I really do not envy you having to drive into London.

I haven't been into London for ages .... then had an adventure on Wednesday .... I was flying Edinburgh - London City - Frankfurt - Uralsk, and Lufthansa cancelled my plane to Frankfurt. They put me on a plane from Heathrow to Frankfurt instead, and I had three hours to change airport. Since they were paying I said "put me on a taxi".

After seeing how traffic goes across London I do not ever wish to make that part of my normal life, but a fun scenic journey - Tower Hill - Westminster Abbey - Grosvenor Square.

What did standout was there were much more diesel Mercs and BMW's than anything electric on the road.

Hi all, we might need to re-check our bikes on the TFL website re the ULEZ charge.

I bought my 2003 Catalysed Twin Spatk R1150R in April solely because the website told me it wouldn’t be subject to the charge.

I re-checked it last week and now TFL have told me I will be charged!!!!

I then put loads of bike through the checker after a quick trawl through Auto trader and in a nutshell if you’ve got a pre-2007 bike it seems you’re getting charged!!!

I rang up TFL they denied changing the website info and offered no solution other than me needing to produce a ‘homologation certificate’ from the manufacturer, I’ve yet to have a reply from BMW UK.

Everything I read about the launch of the R1150 range states the cat and the twin plugs were put in place to be ready for Euro 3 and for the 2003 onwards bike’s to be built compliant.

I’d interested to know how other people’s R1150’s fair up against the TFL ULEZ vehicle checker.

We need to do something!

My 2001 1150GS (single spark) was previously out of scope, is now in scope. So no more biking to the City on tube strike days. And from 25 Oct 2021 no more biking or even motoring to London at all... Complete joke.

My friend's Rockster showed up as not exempt so I told him to contact BMW who confirmed it was indeed Euro 3. Could be an option...

Starting new job in the city, and my 11S is not compliant, so unless I buy another newer bike I'm stuck on the sweaty betty trains and tube.

Could take bike and park outside zone and walk a mile in all my gear I suppose?

My 2009 R1200RT on which I pay £90 p.a. duty is exempt but my Car which is registered in 2010 and on which I I pay £30 p.a. duty is not exempt - go figure.

At least I don't live in the Zone - my friend does he has a 2013 Audi A4 and he must either sell it and buy a new car or pay £4,562.50 a yer - ULEZ charge. At least Dick Turpin wore a bl**dy mask

Your 11s will be compliant, because mine is. All you need is the letter off BMW.

Send a scan of your v5c to eccoc@bmw.co.uk asking for your emission information specifically nox emission info. With any luck you'll get an email back telling you the level of nox which you can use as evidence to gain an exemption. You do NOT need a certificate of conformity, the letter from BMW will suffice.

Sent details to BMW and have had letter back FOC, have forwarded it to TFL. Waiting to hear back [smilie=dance guy.gif]
