It might be my screen but that looks like a full sightglass to me, not an empty one!

You should see the aluminium casing behind if the oil is lower down the sight glass

The oil I took out was black, I had to put that back in so should have been very visible.

Your pic, to me, looks like one of a sight glass full of black oil! :)

I'd have to say I agree your picture looks like an over full sight glass to me too
There would appear to be a surfeit of prolixity and sesquipedalian content today please do not use a big word when a singularly un-loquacious and diminutive linguistic expression will satisfactorily accomplish the contemporary necessity

What I'd do, as annoying as it is, is start again. Drain....refill, but stick 2 ltrs in in one go first, step away for 5 mins....then put the rest in 500ml, or even 250ml, at a time, with 5 mins between each measure. I bet you'll then see it working its way up the glass.

With the bike on the center stand
the oil gets visible through the sight glass
only after putting in almost 3.5 liter of oil
3.7 is the max.
Including the oil to fill up the new filter before installing it.

Once again thanks guys....

The photo doesn't show it clearly.

The oil level just before this nonsense started should have been in between the correct levels, and its always been easy to read as the oil is black.

When you look in the sight glass now, you can see the back of it. It appears to have a faint greenish tint to it. Certainly doesn't look like oil, as in how it used to look.

I think I will buy some fresh oil and do as suggested fill it up bit at a time keeping a close eye on sight glass.

I don't know if its possible but it seems to me that there is some sort of blockage so the oil cant get to the glass, cant think of anything else it could be.

Will post update when I've done that.....

Thanks again

Bike has alarm that totally ignores the disarm button 50% of the time.
Have removed an alarm before from a bike, thought it was quite easy so have stripped bike down.

Having found alarm and how its wired in, am putting bike back together with alarm still on it. :munky2:

Will try find out why it wont disarm properly

Then back to why I cant see any oil in window.

busy busy busy.........
