My favourites to look at are the R1200S like in the pic, then the 54 plate BCR then the Mamola BCR. I like the trick bits on the Glasgow bike but I think I prefer the looks of the R1200S. I am 6 ft and 115kg too so I am not small.
I think paying £5000 for an 02 bike puts me off a little bit even though I know it should hold it's price well.
I did a search in a 50 mile radius on Bike Trader and there is only 1 R1200 for sale but it is a 13 plate and it £10,000+ so it might not be a good representation of the bike in the original post.
This is a tough one. I bought my last two bikes without seeing them or riding them. The first I loved, second was nice but didn't quite grab me. The price I paid was basically trade value though (even though it was nearly £10,000) so I knew if I didn't like it I could move it on fairly easily.
I have since sold that bike and here I am! Money in my pocket and a tough decision to make! It's not like its a GSXR 1000 and are 10 a penny!

Tav, you have been given some good advice on here, time to crap and get off the pot

go test ride one then tell us what you think? BTW the R1200s stopped production after a very short term. R1200 a different kettle of fish but dealers will defo have a demo (motoraad central at Dalkieth) go on man take the plunge!

I know! I am getting close. I am enquiring on a few bikes now.
I checked Edinburgh and there is this one:

Would that really be a good comparison?

That's an RT at £12.5k...........
Hard to give any advice when your shortlist is so varied.
I think I'll leave you to it.

if you just wanted to ride the twin to get a feel for the motor, but fish n fowl mate really, I did have a quick look around, 1200's are hard to find up your way eh? a 1200R roadster would be a better bet if you can find one, give you a better idea of the motor and the handling.. if not, go and look at matey's BCR rep painted one and take it for a spin... it's a nice looking bike that...
