So, took the plunge and I've bought it - collection on Friday.

Stand by chums for an onslaught of posts asking for assistance (please).

I'm very grateful for the help so far as I have now sorted my tyre (thanks tanneman), My VIN check (thanks Mitch 1100), got my manual (thanks Mitch 1100 again) and found a tyre place in Middlewich that will fit the new rear tyre.

More pictures when I get it home.

Initial thoughts are that I need:

(a) a hugger
(b) a stand to keep it vertical
(c) a tank bag
(d) city lids for the panniers
(e) advice on how to repaint the front engine cover as it's pitted around the screw holes - as is the oil filler hole in the rear of the drive shaft

Looking forward to getting it into the (warm) garage and doing some fettling over Christmas.

Glad to be back on the forum as an active (well almost) rider.

The wheels are different colours, is that normal? Looks a bit odd!

Think it is on the RWB ones. The earlier "Randy Mamola" BCR's had two blue wheels, but these had one blue & one white.
I prefer the looks of the earlier model, but each to his own....

Aha, I'd only ever seen ones with two blue wheels, not one white and one blue. Does look a bit weird though.

Don't worry Taz, the white rear & blue front is as the RWB boxercup (best bcr!) is fitted. but then im biased.

Taz, when you get a stand probably best to get an Abba stand specifically for the RWB Boxercup - it will lift it enough to get the back wheel off the ground. I have a Boxerdesign stand from Motorworks and I have to put a piece of wood underneath it to lift it high enough. Not really a problem but better to have the correct stand in the first place

Thanks Dave, I thought that might be the best stand and you have confirmed it.

Taz, I am going to be selling my Mamola in the next few months (have buggered my ankle and can't ride anymore) and I have an Abbas stand and a pair of unused City Lids if your interested. I also have a tank cover and tank bag but they are for the Mamola as opposed to the RWB Cup colour scheme.

I'm sorry to hear that you won't be able to continue riding.

I would be very interested in the city lids and Abba stand. I will send you a PM.

(Thanks also for the offer of the tank bag).

Boxercup suspension

Post by Taz »

Can anyone recommend a suspension upgrade or change for the rear unit on a Boxercup ? I have heard mention of Nitron units - are they any good and how do they compare to Ohlins ??

Many thanks
