It's strange cos Rob has been running Diablos on his Yam Motard and he says he doesn't like the way the front feels.....says it feels like it's gonna let go.The tyre doesn't seem to get all that warm.
Did you run Diablo Corsas on the Buell?
Bailey.

Hi Bailey,

I ran the standard Diablo on the Buell - never reckoned I rode hard enough to get Corsas up to a temp where they'd offer an advantage. Interesting to hear what Rob thought in so much as I've found the S just doesn't feel as planted as I remember it, even with the added benefit of Ohlins.

Tyres - which ones??

Postby Bikerbear » Tue Apr 05, 2005 9:50 am

Hiya Guys interested in your views I have the nicely painted 2004 BCR and have done 4k miles this year - the rear metzeler is now worn pretty thin and needs a new tyre.

I ain't had to many probs with the Metz but fancy something that will give me a few more miles than 4k.

Especially as I'm off to France and Spain in Aug and will be doing over 2000mls in that one trip.

I had the Bridgestone 010's on the RT prior to the move to the S and never had any issues whatsoever (apart from a puncture on day 3), colleague has suggested Pirelli Diablo's but after looking at Gromits input I'm not sure.

Whats the difference between 010's and 014's?

Or is there something better out there?

Many thanks for your kind assistance.

Ken

i was running 020 on my s. only did 3500 miles before changing bike, but they looked good for more than 4k. i'm not what you would call a "spirited" rider though!

running avon azaros on my new bike (not an s) because of the high mileage i should be able to get out of the tyre. not sure how they suit the s though - someone else may be able to help you with that.

aren't the 014's replacements for the 010's ?

Just had my first experience of 010's. Wet track day at Silverstone yesterday!

As the day dried off in the afternoon they felt OK, but in the morning when the track was seriously wet - NO, definitely NO!!!!!

Back to Sportecs for me next time!

That's odd, I find the 010's to be the best tyre I've ever ridden on in the wet - not tried Sportecs though.

All goes to show that tyres really are a personal preference.

Adam :)
Forgive me father for I have sinned... ex S owner moved onto pastures new with four cylinders and a chain... and back to a twin, albeit in a V.
