"10 miles to the litre" :toothy10: :toothy10: :toothy10:

Oh my gawwwdddd !!!

Talk about mixed (up) units.

The metric system consumption measure is litres/100km.
The Imperial system uses miles per imperial gallon.

.
I'm well aware of the vagaries of quoting consumption in metric/ imperial but as an Irishman frequenting a largely UK based forum I tend to follow the "when in Rome rule"...
I have two bikes with mph odometers , and two with kmh , fuel is sold in litres and as (southern) Ireland is a fully paid up EU member, distance is sign posted in Km's , until I travel 120 km's in a Northerly direction , where without warning the speed limits change , distances are all messed up, tank range changes, petrol seems really cheap until you realise the prices are signposted in something called Sterling , which is worth more than the Euro , and if I withdraw cash from a Bank in Northern ireland to pay for this petrol they surcharge me for the dubious pleasure of doing so.
And don't get me going on Diesel in NI..

To cap it all , mpg is about the only thing that makes any sense to me... :?
