They trade from a private address - not neccessarily a bad thing but I was very cautious when they asked for money up front and then he would place the order with Germany. Having dealt with c/f orders b4 and knowing they tend to batch produce things once the order book gets to a certain threshold I didn't go ahead. They are undercutting the motorworks prices by a reasonable margin on some things but you have to offset that against m/w billing you on shipment of goods.

The c/f wishbone still looks appealing to me - I can feel the challenge of taking the front end to bits :D Is your garage free next week Chris ? I can't work in mine till the carpet fitters have been in two weeks :!:

Taking the wishbone out is dead easy, the hard part is the fucking big nut at the front that holds the bottom yoke. Also get some thick sticky stuff to make up protectors for the bits that the brake lines wear through.

Why not save lots of money and get some carbon look sticky sheets.

A bloke on pelican has one fitted,15 pound weight saving and has adjustable mounting to alter steering angle.What with carbon wheels,which i,ve been told are very light.A shed load of weight can be lost from the S,but at what cost £!I reckon you could throw the best part of £8000 in carbon bits alone,then its the titanium.Who knows how much all the fasteners would cost to replace.............Cue Mr C.
The bike would them be a lot lighter and quicker.
But,would this make the bike feel less planted than it is at the moment?
People go on how well the bike tracks through corners on our less than billiard surfaced roads.Is this due to it being fed a few more pies than its rivals?
Food for thought.(pardon the pun)

I've put on 4.5 lbs since I ordered the Dymags last November so that's cancelled out that advantage :lol: What you save in Titanium fasteners can be gained by going for a p*ss b4 you ride, but they still look good :D

It's possible to save a substantial amount of weight, improve braking and handling and get a 30+ BHP increase for no money. In fact you will save cash.

Sell the S and buy a Fireblade.

I'm sure all these light weight goodies make a noticable difference to the S, but in my case I couldn't really justify the outlay unless I won the lottery, which I don't do, so there's not much chance of that.

I'm with Malc, I'd sooner spend my £8000 on a bike built for the purpose, rather than pour money at a bike that is already very good at what it was designed for. But we're all different, and if it makes you happy then that's what's important. :D

Wellll it's all a bit catch 22 really,i rode a bog standard S twice!! when they first launched it,and i thought it was crap,and i haven't changed my mind,with the S it's just a evolution thing,cost within reason doesn't come into it,if i didn't spend it on my S i'd spend it on something else.

Theres a lot that can be done to e'm and it makes a drastic difference,the trouble is when you've ridden the bike for a time it just seems normal!!!,it's only when say Gus and i rode to Pidcocks last year(and Back)(and Le-mans) and then you realise the difference,is it all worth it?? is anything worth anything!!!.

Yes i've had one or two say,for what you've spent on your S,could could go and buy a Blade or something,but if i wanted a Blade and go and buy one as well!!! which takes us back to square one!!!,besides one would be as much use to me as a hole in the head!!,thats not to say theres out wrong with e'm but a head down bum up job's no bloody good to me!! or my missus!!!

Hence why i'll be plodding on the old S for many a year,and besides i'm buggered if i'm ever going through another 10,000 miles of pergatory like i've had with this one,but if Triumph bring out a Sport Tiger then my 955 might in trouble.
