I reckon the Galespeeds look OK:

...although I don't really have any problem with stockers meself.
Scared to ride a Dymag'd bike in case I like it..

I doubt the AC wheels will have any advantage in weight difference over the stockers.If thats what your after?
After riding a S with light wheels,i can say they make one hell of a difference to how the bike performs over stock.

This is my point exactly - no offence. These wheels are a design compromise. They are designed to a generic fit and then the design is adapted to fit the BM.
Look at those disc adapters - CHRIST! - that's your braking ability in the bin right there. When Yamaha made the R1 SP they fitted it with Marchesini wheels and then had new discs made so they didn't have to fit Marchesini's ridiculous disc adapters carved from block of solid billet.

The best starting point for any aftermarket wheel is the original geometry. The AC Schnitzer wheels come with no adapters - they are designed for that fit, go straight on and have the benefit of reduced rotating mass. Even if they are the same weight having them made from drop forged ally means that the weight at the outer edge of the rim is going to be lighter.
Magnesium - nice but I'd not ride on the road with 'em and I'd like to find an insurance company that'd be happy about that.

Bling? Maybe. But the bloke selling those K1200s wheels is selling hyper sports wheels for a touring bike. I have three mates with a K1200s and they didn't buy it for its sporting prowess.

Every bike I've had I've modified and I've tried really hard not to fit the obvious crap that people do - anodised tosh and the like. There's not much out there for the 12s so for me the wheels are on the list.
Waste of money? People spend more on watches so they can show off with 'em at the pub.

Some of us worked out the only real way to get a major improvement on the S was to get weight off,cheap it isn't,time consuming it is,forget your induct,airfilter blah blah blah,put some light wheels on,it's call unsprung weight,perhaps after the drama's that both i and Boxerpan went through sorting ours out,his were differnt from mine and he had just as much hassle :wink: and then the full carbon fibre group buy for the Americans we know a bit more about it than most.

As far as belly pans go :evil:

Welcome to world of aftermarket wheels dude,Boxerpan and i did the best part of 4 grand between us,the first thing we had to do was chuck the disc carriers in the bin and have some custom ones made,at 180 pounds apair,what i find strange why don't you just phone Dymag up and get them to make you some,we've done all the donkey work,save you looking at the junk :wink:

See, now you're treating us like we don't know what (and what effects it has) unsprung weight is...........

Please stop that - you may work "in the trade" but seem to be a bit dismissive of others' knowledge and experience - gained in other walks of life.
