Weird Tyres

Post by jivebiker »

Has anybody tried these remoulds?

I remember talking to them at the bike show many years ago.

I rather like the idea of a coloured pair for a change.

I was never bothered about social acceptability. I used to be a Line Dancer and my brother-in-law is a Morris Dancer.

As far as the ugliest thing you can put on a bike.... I've had Apehangers on a BSA Bantam, Upside down Ace bars on a CBR400RR, and my wife goes on the back sometimes... oops!

At least if it gets nicked it'll be easy to spot.

I had a pair of black ones (they hadn't started doing coloured ones before anyone says anything) on a fireblade some years ago. Purely a cost issue - I was skint... again. Can't remember where I got them, I have a feeling I got them from a show somewhere but they could just have easily been posted - my memorys getting worse. Never had a problem with them but I was always left wondering if I was going to have a blow out or some other drastic event. Not a problem with the tyres, just my paranoia. From what I can remember at that time you could choose the particular carcass, ie Michelin, Dunlop, Bridgestone etc and whether it would have a sporting or touring bias.

tyres

Tried them about 5/6 yrs ago on a 1200 bandit ,as said ,you could choose carcass and compound. They handled and gripped pretty good, steering was heavier though because being a remould the tyre itself was heavy compared to normal, now the bad bit, had to get the rear replaced twice as it was cutting up badly. Chucked them and went back to brand names. That was a few years ago ,they might have improved by now.
