Apropos of a quite patch at work I went into
http://www.motorcyclenews.com
to look at bikes and what's for sale (what a suprise) and discovered 62, yes 62 (7 pages) R1200S for sale, 99% of 'em being low mileage demos I reckon. As a point of reference I then checked R1100S;s. Only 19 in all!
Scary thought, even more so as I've got one No wonder production has been suspended for a while.
Just thought you'd be mildly interested.

I clicked on the link above and was struck by this. Blimey; he's shed a gramme or two! Obviously means business.

"Crumbs Chief! What do we do now?"
That one has a hideous colour scheme!! Some people are just crazy!!
Used prices look good value though - almost tempted to trade my 12,000miler one in for a 600 miler bargain. But we all know that BMWs run better the more they are used.
Don't feel too bad though Eon
There's 142x1200GSs, 73x1200RTs, and 57 of them Multistrada things
I don't think any of us R1200s owners are going to get a great deal when we finally trade them in or sell them on but I don't really care. A mate of mine was recently offered £6k for an immaculate low-mileage 07 plate R1200gs by the dealer he bought from (AJs) - thats considerably less than I got for my '05 one in August. I dread to think what they'd offer me for my S....I don't think I'll be asking.

I'm not selling mine anytime soon so I'm not bothered that I could have saved a couple of grand or that its lost about 2.5k in depreciation.
Its a very under rated bike and BMW have hardly helped by pretending that its a good alternative to whatever is the current jap 4 king.
Given that its quite cheap It actually makes for a bargain when placed next to a HP2

I'm OK I promise guys!!!
I was just a little shocked as to how much unsold metal there was of such a cracking bike. I definately think this is the best bike I've owned so not thinking of the future at all.
In fact can't wait to get the (Ohlins pressie to self) fitted and give it a smacking
P.S. Used to have Multistrada's so now feeling smug
