All the best to your dad. I hope he is up and about as soon as possible.

Actually I've had one off as a result of diesel. I was in a petrol station (soaking wet day) and was getting back on my bike after filling up. I slipped on the diesel/petrol soaked surface and went crashing to the floor. The bike fell away from me the other way snapping off a mirror, brake lever, and bent the brake pedal.

Very embarrassing.

Andy

There is a small mention of your dad in the Craven Herald on page 11 under a head line
“Autumn sunshine leads to a spate of bike crashes” and it mentions the diesel spill. It is a shame as they are very quick to criticise bikers and wont address the bigger issues like diesel spills.

Blond as a bat. I went through the paper 3 times ffs!

Its a rubbish slant on it though, that corner is a killer with diesel on it.

Stoney, I've only just read this thread, hence the delay, but please pass on my best wishes to your dad for a speedy recovery. Too many flippin accidents all round at the moment, imho.

But if the same thing has happened in the same place again, it sounds like there is someone with a damaged tank who needs to be stopped. Anyone got an ANPR unit they're not using at the mo?

Can't get an ANPR but I do know some nice chaps who are very handy with an RPG. ;)

My Dad has just been back to A&E as he’s not been getting any better and they’ve discovered that he’s got a fractured neck!!!!!!!!!!!!

So he's been admitted to the high-dependancy unit and an operation looks likely.

I don't know whose X-rays the lot in Lancaster were looking at but thats one heck of a thing to miss!
