Anyone who's not read Ted Simon's superb adventure story, Jupiter's Travels, is missing a real treat.
1973 : No GPS, no email, no mobile phone, no internet, no credit card, no planning/escort/camera/rescue teams...
"Four years around the world on a Triumph".
A classic.

I must have missed something.
With LWR I expected a load of tosh, two lovies playing at it. Fair enough, they had the support vehicles and stuff, but in my opinion they did well. Infact I was well impressed. There's no doubt they are well into biking on a gennuine passionate level and they did a lot of good for UNICEF and other causes en route.
It's easy to knock them but it's the one thing I'm mad-keen to do. Anyone who's stuck at it and done the trip, well done. It's only a dream for me yet, but it's one I aim to fullfill.
DVD on order.
