Help! Indicator Pod Removal

Post by elkesprint »

Hi Guys

I am in the process of replacing both front indicator pods as both mine are cracked.

:?: I've got the indicator lense out and the three visable screws there are two additional screws on the inside which I can see on of the bolts but how do you get to them?

I used the search function bit can't see a tread on removal or fitting

Any suggestions

Cheers Elkesprint

Have you got the side panel off? I'm guessing not.

You really need to take the side panel off (it's not hard - just about 7 small hex head bolts), then the pod is secured by 2 more bolts to the faring. You'll see them easy. You probably could undo the bolts with the faring on but it would be a lot simpler with it off - 10 minute job honestly!

If this is the first time for getting the panels off, you should also check theres no chaffing of the wires between the frame rails and the panels on the left hand side.
This has been quite a common event for trixters and prevention is certainly better than cure.

Paul put some photos up somewhere if you do a search.
