I hope my future HP2 Sport will meet my expectations.

It doesn't meet my expectations;no 23 liter tank from the endurance race bike,no passenger seat,no centerstand and no bags...
Hope you enjoy it.Like the bike a lot especially the trick dohc radial valve drivetrain. But woul need another bike like a R1200R to fill my sports-touring needs and the price tag of the HP-S already causes short breath and slight dizziness for me at least... Enjoy the new toy;the true sportsportsportsportSportboxer at last with really nowhere to put any panniers...
How can they top this?Maybe add a supercharger for the 75th anniversary of Schorsch Meiers triumph wiining the TT on the Kompressor-BMW back in 1938.
Days of glory...

My HP-S

Post by BMW-Fahrer »

twodear forgot I would buy the HP-S too but my contract would look slighly different...
BMW-R1200S-HP-Sport
-23 liter tank
-regular plastic fairing
-no electric shifter
(saves money)
-seat,luggage rack,centerstand like F800ST
-bags like R200R
-exhaust like R1100S
My dreambike worth retiring the R1100S for...
Hopfully soon :!:

Nice one on the order. The Hps is one very trick bike. If your into boxers and like them on the sporting side, then the hps is the one. Will you be using it to race with?

I wish you would just get on and build the bike you want.Get a 1200s crash damaged and do the business. It may end up looking like a pigs ear(GS adv   ) but it will tick all of YOUR boxes .

Very well said Gus!!! Chris G Get real BMW are not going to make a bike just for you. Most of us will buy what is available in the marketplace and then do some work to make it suit our needs. I would not buy a 1200s without luggage but my order went straight in as soon as BMW admitted they had got it wrong and launched the panniers. You seem to be happy with your 1100s so why not stay with it as it seems to fullfill your wishlist??

If my conscience allows me to fully endulge my motorcycling passion then it will only be on public roads long enough to break in the motor. After that, the lights and anything not essencial will come off and Sport will become my primary track bike, supplanting the Lizard, as well as fill a third berth in the garage next to Bubba, the 1150 GSA.

I agree the HP-S is a unique boxer sportbike and probably a great but expensive trackbike.I like my bike a little more versatile.Don't want a GS or Roadster.Just one bike that does it all like the R1100S.But still want like from day one 10 years ago when it ws all new in 1998 a little more power and bigger tank...
Some things never change...

.

But the R1100S doesn't like it off road...wouldn't that make the GS the 'do everything' choice as it is comfortable on or off road, with or without luggage and pillion?
