2007 Brno MotoGP

Just got back from a great weekend over in Brno watching the MotoGP. even thought the main race was a bit boring the weekend and the spectacle as a whole is a real treat. Loads of noise, loads of atmosphere and a great view from almost anywhere on the track.

Here are a few photos from the weekend. (Pics unloaded from iphoto using iweb software - they seem to be downgraded in quality quite heavily compared to the older versions of iphoto - has antone else experienced this?

I did, just haven't unpacked it yet. It should be out tomorrow or the day after and stay for the weekend before heading back to Germany where it'll ber warming the Nurburgring up nicely for my wee trip in a couple of weeks.

What camre have you got? Ive just bought my first dslr (cheapish one ) and hope to learn to take some decent pics at meetings etc

Canon 20D - Its great. The current model is the 30D. Which one have you got?

Fantastic Pictures... I have a Mac with the latest Iphoto, iweb etc etc (iLife 08 to come). I have not noticed any major drop off in recent versions.. however my results always seem a litle"neutral"... especially as compared to your results. Your reds are very vibrant.

I have an Olympus E1 with 1.4 teleconverter.. but saving up for the longer lenses needed for shots like yours.... what size lens were you using?

It seems to make them all look like low-quality jpegs - sort of pixelated the flat colours. I can print the originals at A3 and they look crystal clear and pin-sharp - weird!

My lens is a pretty cheap Sigma 70-300mm (1:4-5.6 APODG). I noticed a few others using the same lens there so it can't be all bad.

Nope - its a goodun - amazing value for money. You'll have already discovered that even the entry level DSLRs wipe the floor with even the best compact cameras. Instant shutter, umpteen shots per second and great quality photos. I recently bought a top range canon compact for days out and travelling - its already naffed me off - I just cant live with shutter lag.

Its worth buying a decent fixed 50mm lens (£100 approx) for portraits and travelling light. If you can get a battery grip it makes action photos easier as the camera is easier to hold..plus it gives double the battery life.
