Brake warning light

Hi folks
Quick queery about the brake waning light on an 03 1100s.
The warning light to the right of the ABS 'System Fault' light has come on and wont go off.
The brakes and ABS work fine
The brake/tail and number plate lights are fine
The Fluid levele front and rear are fine
The battery cranks over fine and holds correct voltage when starting,running or static
Any one suggest something Ive overlooked (like putting a sticker over it ?)
Any suggestions gratefully received

Disconect the battery, then re connect a few mins later to clear the fault codes in the memory.

Thanks guys but Ive tried both of these already and it hasnt cleared.
Its looking like a wiring/ECU fault methinks

You say you've checked the fluid levels - Does that include the fluid levels in the servo unit as well ??

They may need topping up -The warning light is a low level in the servo unit warning.

Friend of mine had a similar problem it was a majior failure of the abs system, fixed under warrenty over £1200.

Get BM to check it out!

What kind of warranty work requires a further £1200? The ABS unit is £1000. Sounds like no warranty

Right thanks that makes sense - but I thought the servos were fed by the front and rear reservoirs.
|If so for the level to drop in the servos without dropping much in the reservoirs surely air must have entered the ABS /sevo unit from elsewhere ?
Any thoughts ?

During service, the ABS unit is bled first, rear brake loop first. Then the callipers. If you had air entering the system at any point, you would feel it by a spongy/no brake. I took the ABS out of my early bike because it was so tiresome to bleed. There are lots of additional bonuses to not having a plain ABS, I certainly dont miss it. Not sure what other features the later ABS offered. If you cant track the fault, then a trip to a better dealer may be needed. They can plug it in to a diagnostic.

The servos aren't fed by the mastercylinders -

They have their own reservoirs. i.e if you bleed the calipers, you have to top up the servo reserviors as the master cylinders don't lose any fluid.

You'll see the two black plastic fluid caps on the servo. They undo with an 8mm allen key. But be gentle when doing them back up, they're only plastic.

Oysters advice doesn't apply to your servo brakes. they're a completely different kettle of brakes .

Hey guys thanks for your help.
Looking at it agsin yesterday i noticed a slight leakage from one of the overflow pipes by the swinging arm.
As its under warranty Ive had it taken in for fixing
Will post an update to close the loop once I get it back.
For now though- thanks for all your suggestions

Hi, I've been referred to you as you might be able to point me int the right direction. I've got an R1100s with a smashed in ignition barrel and steering lock, otherwise fine. Have ordered a new barrel, casing and key off a used R1100S. Could you fit it? Bike is marooned in Battersea and have not even managed to disconnect battery.

Any help would be hugely appreciated.
