r1200s...just fitted BOS front system tonight

Postby thedukeofhunslet » Tue May 15, 2007 7:24 pm

Just finished fitting these an hour ago. Unfortunately the offside lambda sensor is about an inch too far away. I have had to uncouple it from its clip and hold it in place with a tie wrap (see the green near the throttle) to make it fit.
A bit annoying that as these appear to be nice pipes. Even with the original can on that 4-5k drop in power is nowhere near as bad as it was.

Nice Richard
Did you get a discount on the downpipes / how much were they?
I have a good contact and a bit of a discount set up with a bos dealer if you decide to go for the system

Chears PB.
I paid £290 which is 20 quid off - however they threw a Dyno-Run in for that too. Jordan Bikes.
I'm not getting the rest of the kit but opting for a Zard back box instead.

I'm led to believe I can only get these via a Wunderlicht dealer which means back to Rainbow bikes.

Hi...I fitted a set to mine 4 months ago and love them...
Kept the standard back box on but put a carbon sleeve from sandbar over and looks great... with the sensor you have to re-route it and it should be ok...they should have supplied you with a clip which allows you to fix it in the right place when you done..little black plastic thing...
Bugger to keep clean though..

Cheers Andy....If you lived near would do it for you...

PS..where is Hunslet
Catch me if you can...........

You know what would really finish this bike off.... The front fairing panel should continue on down just covering the front wishbone pivot - then carry on down covering the throttle body gubbins then rise to meet exactly the rear quarter panel.

This would still show all the pretty bits of the engin and give it a little more balance... especially if a RoLoo type sump cover thingy is in place..(cannot for the life of me remeber what the bloody thing is called)

IMHO

Quicksilver. Hunslet - Leeds. To the one side of us is Belle Isle - where Nel McAndrew came from. To the otherside of us is Beeston. Where suicide bombers come from.

Quite the up and coming neighbourhood. If your coming up from nothing that is.

Snavetrauts - I was going to get the full Sandbar kit but though better of it. It looks pretty enough as it is. Just going to get the carbon front and rear fenders, alternator cover and engine side covers now.
After that I can't think of anything more I'd like to do with it.
I might get the black stripes painted on though as they are just pvc tape. You'd expect more than that for £310 wouldn't you...?
