They sure are pretty. But I don't get how people can actually ride these things. I rode one from a friend and felt I was sitting on my knees with my head in front of the front wheel while holding my ankles with my hands.

And that one had bar risers.

Just love that polished swingarm. I bought one of them for my Falco and after hours of polishing it, decided to sell the bike
By all accounts the 2001 on bikes are better after Troy Corser slightly changed the frame geometry (think the rear section above the swingarm is shorter). Apparently the comfort stakes went up lots.
Also the earliest bikes 1998 models had huge throttle bodies (60mm?) which rendered them somewhat uncontrolable in the smooth acceleration dept!

Thanks all for the comments
Riding this bike is a love it or hate it thing.i had an email last week from a guy with an s that wanted a mille as a second bike and i told him what to look out for but i said at the end try before you buy. i am tiny about 5`5`` ish but 14.6 stone and it fits me and the way i ride well . not good for big bellys the tank back is too up right.
the later bike had the same frame but the shock and lower linkage were slight changed .
60mm? i think you are getting mixed up with the Honda sp1 . the early mille`s had the smallest at 51mm and later bikes went up to 54 then 57mm for the edwards reps.
the swingarm is lovely ,i ended up polishing it after the first owner who had it for 800 miles marked it with a paddock stand!. i have had the bike since may 2000 and have just kept making it better it will be with me for some time to come.

I just so happen to have a set of 54 mm throttle bodies for sale.
Bought them for the propsed Tuono Racing, only to have a crushing realisation I dont want any bike other than another 1200s.

It's part of the schizo 'choosing a bike' experience. Go see your shrink for meds!

pb i would love to buy them but these are not the way to go for me, they move the power up the rev range and the bottom end power is really upset. thanks anyway
