West Country Tour

Post by scotty »

Just got back on Sunday evening from my first really long blast on the S since owning it for nearly a year. It really is a superb long distance machine and the best bike by far I have owned. In 9 days went from Aberdeen to London via Blackpool then down to the New Forest to see Sammy Millars Motorcycle museum (superb) then down to Bournmouth, torquay, Truro, St Ives, Padstow and Bude before visiting Clovelly and then back up the M5 and home via a stop at Morecombe. 1,865 miles in 9 days. The long haul back up to Aberdeen was a bore so next time I visit the west country I'd fly down and hire a bike in Plymouth. However, the Beemer never missed a beat once and was totally superb. On the way down there was one stretch on a quiet M 74 where I was averaging between 100 -110 mph. A superb bike.
