My SS came with a yellow spring, wider rear wheel and different stickers - thats pretty much it...
Apart from taller suspension, no ABS and I think a shorter paralever arm..
Oh and it cost an extra grand to buy S/H
This has been discussed at length elsewhere on the site I think..

SS being "Sport Sport" presumably. Due to technological advances, the boffins at BMW were able to squeeze an additional "Sport" from the updgraded R1200S to give us "Sport Sport Sport"

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.
