I was in exactly the same boat a couple of months ago - BCR or F800
the nice guys at Astle in Grimsby let me try both bikes for a couple of hours.
Was out to buy the F8 originally but as i walked in the showroom the beauty of the BCR drew me in like a tractor beam

! Couldn't get it out of my head after that, had always seen the boxercup at Moto gp and loved the noise they made - still i tried to remain positive about the F8 after all that is what i intended to buy - Great little bike,cheapish, light, quick looked ok, sounded ok, but that was it - just ok

. Also, when my missus was on the back and she only weighs 9 stone, the steering was so bloody light it was like riding my old 250 stroker - not very nice two's up.
So then i tried the BCR, it's a heavy old lump but it looks the nuts, sounds the nuts & turned more heads than i don't know what - this is something else i thought! had to have one, up'd my budget by 2 grand and went for it

Is a bit of a struggle as i'm only 5'7" now i know how Pedrosa or Capirossi feels.
After a month of ownership i absolutely love it! it's got so much grunt, just rolling back the throttle when in top gear it just pulls like a bitch, pops up on the throttle, loves hills / corners - can't ask for more.

Why not venture up to Hawes this weekend and see a few more BCR's.

can you give me an idea of it's geographical location?

Correct. This machine will not be seen on mainland UK (too embarrasing perhaps

Haven't lived here long, (4yrs) originally from Hertfordshire and i haven't owned a bike since i relocated - so just learning where all the good routes are - furthest north i've been so far is Whitby
Sounds like an absolute blast.
2 minor problems, I have to work on Friday so won't be able meet at the Humber bridge (which is a shame as i only live 5 mins away), also I've got to do the great north run on Sunday, so won't be able to stop over.
I do fancy the ride out on saturday if it's not too early set off as it would probably take me over an hour or so to get there i reckon, just need to know details

Jamie,
We are planning to leave Hawes at around 10-00am on Sat and from the Bridge I would want to allow myself a couple of hours to get to Hawes. Quickest way would be A1079 York A64 ring rd A59 to the A1 up to Leeming Bar and then A684 to Hawes.

Well, I took a test ride on the damp roads around S*C this morning and bought their red F800S demonstrator. Just over 4k on the clock and a handy £1800 saving on list price. I added on a top box and tank bag and will be collecting it on Saturday morning. They had the Remus pipes in stock but not the Akrapovic. I'll wait until I see the Akrapovic in the flesh before deciding whether to splash some cash or not.
