…spring is in the air (…?..) and if that’s the case, things start getting itchy…
…somehow I always liked the (old) boxer RT, and this one almost came cheap (read : less expensive…)
…first registration August 1987.
…only done 76.000 kilometers.
…scratch-free screen.
…first, scratch-free paint.
…complete with BMW Touring cases, Volt meter, quartz clock, all the (little) keys, the original BMW toolkit, users manual, and with a fresh Metzeler rear tire.
…this R/RT is a Monolever version
…it has only 800 cc, and a staggering 50 HP, but maximum torque at a low 3.500 RPM.
…choke, ignition, a little touch on the starter button, and : shake-shake-shake-shake…

…only thing ‘missing’ is a second front brake…; but these are easy to get.

…the only thing I now have to do, is to find a little extra storage space in my garage…

Nice one!I had an '89 100RT and managed to put 225'000 miles on it.
A great bike.

Ron - that is one sweet scoot. Like it, lots :)

It's probably an insult to such a nice bike to say this, but quite possibly the ultimate winter bike. Big fairing, heated grips & a low CofG. Perfect :)

Nearly as perfect as an MZ of course... ;)

The wheels look an identical pattern to my MZ 301 :shock:

We have a phrase for that kind of bloke here.
We call em "Wankers" ,or more suitable in this case "C**t".
I bet he promised to cherish it and everything,so you let him have it at a good price,right?

The moral of the story is 'never trust a buyer with a good heart and not enough cash!'

Think of this way. The guy who bought the bike from you was probably not a nice man as he was willing to turn you over for a fast buck.:evil:

The person he sold the bike too is probably a mad keen BMW enthusiast who has wanted that particular model for many years and who will cherish the bike for many years, doing only a handful of carefully riden miles a year, while continuing to carry out the necessary maintenance and services at the recommended millages and eventually offer the bike to a museum, where it will be kept at optimum temperature and humidity ensuring it will continue to look immaculate for enternity. :D


Alternatively of course he may just be a dispatch rider looking for a realiable hack to take him through the winter months :shock:

Eitherway, its gone forever so just get out there and enjoy your fantastic new bike.
Ride like your life depended on it.
