New here and to BMW
Hi,
I've just stumbled across this site and have spent the last couple of hours reading some of the threads. I think I might like it here..
I picked up a very nice R1100S, with the sports suspension and wider rear wheel, the Friday before last but unfortunately I have been in Canada and America on business since the day after. I only got to ride the bike about 100 miles but I was really impressed. I'd read that the boxer can be "vibey" but compared to the Ducati I traded in it's silky smooth!
I'm coming back home tomorrow and can't wait to get back in the saddle.
Anyway, just saying, "Hello" really. I live in Hants and I see there are a few of you around the area so I may well meet a few of you in passing.
All the best,
/Phil.

Hello Phil
Welcome to the asylum, you've probably got in on an 11S at just the right time as we're all expecting values to climb now they've released the 12 and people start to realise how good the 11 really is !
Not that I'm saying the 12 is bad, haven't ridden one so can't really. ( but the end can does still look like a baboons arse )

Hi,
yes, I think I bought at a good time. I think I got a good price too. I haven't ridden the 12 either but my feeling is it's aimed at a different market. I want a bike to ride to work in comfort with an element of weather protection but then be able to have fun at weekends. The lack of hard luggage on the 12 would be a deal-breaker as far as I'm concerned.
Thanks for all the welcomes!

Welcome to Boxertrix. You won't be disapointed with the S then.
p.s. Confusious says: "better to be wished 'have a nice day' from someone who doesn't mean it than to be told to 'F*-off' by someone who does".

It's not how fast you ride, it's how you ride fast.
Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear
bright until you hear them speak.
