Back to the Future/ I'M BACK!!!
Was intending to keep quiet about this until Burton but I have let the Cat out of the bag to Richard and Paul so here goes, Come next weekend I'm back on an S, Took the GS in yesterday for some warranty work and ended up taking a Mamola Rep out, Bottom line I still love the S and ended up buying it. It felt really good to be back on an S, As soon as I was on it was like being at home, May not be the Fastest,Trickist bike on the planet but it suits me!!!
Regards Peter.

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.
Thank God!
I thought that the inexorable march toward global domination by the GS, that I had unwittingly brought about, was irreversible.
Thank you herrman for reversing the trend.
(PS: I'm a little worried about Grommo and his Hardly Able Son...is it true that he's taken to wearing stars-and-stripes bandannas and sporting tassled bar-ends? At least we won't have to look far for a tail-ender! schnooooorfff!!!)

Come on down to a FLASH weekend break in South West France!
Rufty-Tufty, tassled, Bikers ONLY. No cars please! (unless it's a Volvo Estate with a carbon fibre tow-bar)

Congratulations Peter. I'll be interested to hear your experiences on the 'technology regression' of the 'S' & R1100 vs. R1200 engine debate.
May I ask if you got a decent trade in for the GS or was the dealer concerend that you'd used it on consecutive Sundays? You must have made the salesman's day shifting an S.
Julian

Well Peter, does that mean I have got to do the same thing.
Well you kept on saying you were not 100% with the GS, and riding is mostly in the mind, if you mind is right you ride right.
I'm waiting for Tony to get his HP2.

OK I'll answer what questions I can, Should have it Sat, Alan has turned down the GS and is keeping his RS, Dealer offered top money and didn't seem bothered by over 10,000 miles in 9 months, He didn't even go and look at the bike!!! Corrosion is still a problem and the Canbus electricals do not like any corroded conection, The thing sends confusing signals to the onboard computer. Whilst I had really started to get to grips with it recently the S has always pushed the right buttons for me and getting back on one just felt right.
Peter.
