Remus, exhaust system and laser exhaust system.
What is the difference?

Which chip should I be looking at FIM is a lot cheaper than the BB?
Through all this excitement the original posting has remained unasnwered. I am still in the dark as to the best way forward with regard to chip. I haven't been on the board long enough to know what happened to "Malcs" bike (what did happen to it and why?)
It burned both pistons at the same time!!!!
Still fancy one!!!!
The K+N filter replaces the standard filter, the SJ is still a K+N filter but an oval one that has an aluminium housing that keeps it in position but the filter drops inside the airbox,so you can actually put your hand into it,means all the crap that comes down the duct and lies on top of the filter and eventually blocking it, were as with the SJ it drops into the bottom out of the way.

Basically, unless you have it dynoed and the exhaust gas analysed it's all just guess work. My bike has Lennies, bbpower chip, laser road system and the K12 pressure reg and has run perfectly with this setup for about 80 of it's 95k miles. TBH if I had my time again I probably wouldn't have bothered with the chip at all, and just put the regulator in.
Having said that she'll probably explode on my way home tonight
Luckily I have the necessary spares in the garage

Just had a quick look at the BBpower site (havn't looked at it for ages) and found this. Just to muddy the water a bit more
We warn people urgently not to use gasoline pressure regulators with a higher pressure. (from K-model).
The consequences are more excessive fuel consumption and soot formation and thinning of the oil of the engine.
Big air snorkel called air charger worsen the torque in the lower range, these make only sense from stage 4 on.
Pieces of equipment like PowerCommander, Techlusion u. a. work after unfortunately not as desired our experience and almost always supplies drastic disturbances instead of to an improvement.
Special plug leads are insignificant and from our view pure financial waste , absolute no power gain.
Have spent last 2 nights reading the plethora of information you guys have posted. I am a new member having bought a R1100S "special" from BMW Motorrad employee. The modifications he advised are:- Vanderlinde free flow exhaust/e-prom/gas flowed heads on 2004 engine (changed due to crankshaft end float on original). BMW sports suspension, AC Schnitzer rear sets and rocker covers, PMF 6 pot front brake system. All of the internal works need to be verified by a specialist (can you recommend one preferably near to me in Rugby?). I only do minimal mileage in good weather but when I brought the bike back up the M** (closed track) saw indicated 145 with loads left in hand. I would be interested in any information you know on the bike (reg: V43 DCF) as the apparent history from the owner was that he and colleagues worked on it for BMW to see what power they could achieve for the Boxer cup series. Their work was shelved so he bought it from them.
It would be very useful to learn what mods the above V reg (1999?) special had done to it and how many man hours it took!
I was under the impression that the heads have been developed as far as they can be on the drawing board before production? So further gas flowing would be negligible.

Oyster. 1999 R1100S. Almost original.
