Magnecor H T leads for R1100S and others

Postby oyster » Wed Oct 19, 2005 12:05 pm

After much research, Phil De Wit, director of Magnecor, has assembled a pair of rally spec spark plug leads to caps and ends that will fit the unusual requirements of the R.
This has not been without some headache, the R spark plug tunnel is a narrow taper and the cap has some unique features to it.
The leads I opted for are the same as I had assembled for my Honda car when I was preparing it for a european driving holiday a few years back. I was impressed with the improvement to the engine response then, so asked Phil if he could sort some leads for the R. The result is not huge more HP, rather it is felt as a stronger response, a better combustion perhaps. I am very pleased with the result.
The leads come in different specifications; basic 7mm is black at £30.35. The blue, 8mm, (my preferred choice) at £30.84. The well insulated 8.5mm is in red at £35.91. These prices exclude P&P and Vat.
I advised Phil that I would put his details here, he will be happy to discuss assembling leads for other R1100S, or any other vehicle.

My lovely bike is rapidly becoming a vintage, 1998 single spark.
I bet the twin spark uses four single spark leads!

Mmmm! So us twin spark peeps could probably double these prices?

My mini-coils went US after about a year, and I think that they are the weak link in the chain for the twin spark bikes. I have heard of a few others going wrong also. Would better quality HT leads make this worse?

I believe duff cols will always be duff! The wires to and from the coil are just links, which can be improved.
